Responsibilities

  • The Adult and Child Center for Outcomes Research and Delivery Science (ACCORDS) has an opening for a part-time (0.5 FTE) Research Services Professional who will assist a PCORI-funded research project team in conducting clinical and community-based research on best practices in engaging youth patient partners in youth advisory boards for research projects
  • Project coordination (40%)
  • Assist with and oversee the day-to-day tasks required for the operation of health services research studies and health research trials
  • Schedule subject participation in research studies, coordinating availability of necessary space, and research support (e.g., project manager, research staff, principal investigators)
  • Act as a project coordinator on multiple trials/studies
  • Participate in subject recruitment efforts, including communicating with patients expressing an interest and all pre-screening/screening activities
  • Ensure that the necessary supplies and equipment for studies are in stock and in working order
  • Independently master study materials, including but not limited to protocols, informed consent forms, and all other essential study documents for assigned studies
  • Perform study related processes, procedures, and assessments as defined in study protocol and in compliance with regulating bodies, under supervision of study coordinators and project manager
  • Assist Team Leads, Supervisors and/or management with creation and implementation of processes and procedures and quality improvement initiatives
  • Data collection and analysis (40%)
  • Obtain study subject’s information, reviews research protocol inclusion/exclusion criteria, and confirms eligibility of subject to participate in research studies
  • Perform informed consent process or ensures that the informed consent process has occurred, is properly documented, and that informed consent form documents are filed as required
  • Interview prospective subjects for a variety of research studies
  • Educate potential subjects on the details of the studies through phone contacts and personal interviews
  • Collect, code, and analyze data obtained from research in an accurate and timely manner
  • Adhere to research regulatory standards
  • Bring young adult/youth perspective to all team discussions
  • Co-lead project objectives with faculty co-investigator, as appropriate
  • Work in close coordination with other research team members, including youth co-investigators and advisors
