Job Description
## Your Next Step Into a Career That Changes Lives
This isn't just an entry-level job—it's the first step in a mapped-out journey toward a degree, a promotion, and even leadership. At Center for Social Dynamics (CSD), we don't just hire staff. We invite compassionate changemakers who believe every student deserves the support to succeed.
## About the Opportunity
As a Behavior Specialist, you'll use play, games, and evidence-based strategies to help kids build communication, social, and life skills. You'll bring energy and compassion to each session, whether it's at a child's home, one of our centers, or out in the community. You'll follow personalized plans designed by our clinical leaders while celebrating small wins that lead to big growth. This is a flexible, on-the-go role where no two days look the same, and you don't need prior experience—we'll train you and support you every step of the way.
## What Makes This Role Different
• *Career Compass** gives you clarity from day one with your growth pathway. **Dreams Come True** through free college or tuition reimbursement to help you earn your degree. With **Career Rewards**, you'll receive recognition and milestones as you grow. Flexible schedules plus paid training mean you can learn, earn, and thrive.
## Starting Pay and Schedule
Starting pay is $20–$25 per hour, based on experience. You'll enjoy a consistent weekday schedule with no weekends and a school-year calendar with holidays aligned to district schedules. Flexible availability is especially needed for Monday–Friday afternoons/evenings plus Saturdays.
## What Success Looks Like
You'll see kids smiling because they can now say a new word, share a toy, or join in play—achieving life-changing milestones. Families will feel hope and relief because they see progress. And you'll grow through paid training, coaching, and mapped-out career milestones.
## About You
You enjoy working with children and making a difference. You're patient, dependable, and compassionate. You communicate clearly and work well as part of a team. You thrive in structured, school-based environments and have reliable transportation to get where you need to be.
## What We're Looking For
You'll need a high school diploma or GED. Proof of vaccinations (MMR, Varicella, COVID—California mandated) is required. You must be comfortable working with diverse populations and willing to complete training and documentation. The ability to frequently sit and stand while keeping pace with your client is essential. Flexible availability, especially Monday–Friday afternoons/evenings plus Saturdays, is important for this role.
## Benefits and What Awaits
You'll get meaningful, hands-on experience with students in a collaborative team environment. Our vibrant culture, hands-on training, and career pathways help you grow just as much as those we serve. We're a fast-growing leader in the field of autism and developmental services, and we believe that every child deserves a chance to shine.
## Our Mission and Values
At CSD, we're a passionate team on a mission to open up a world of possibilities for individuals with autism and other developmental needs through science, compassion, and a whole lot of heart. We meet kids where they are—at home, in schools, and in communities—and guide them on a path toward growth. We live our TRUE values: **Transparency** in the work we do and the actions we take; **Respect** for all and the value everyone brings; **Understanding** through tolerance, cooperation, and empathy; and **Excellence** in our drive, passion, and commitment to our mission.
CSD is a proud equal opportunity employer. All applicants will be considered for employment without attention to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran or disability status. In accordance with the Fair Chance Act, we consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records, and we encourage all individuals, including those with prior criminal histories, to apply.
