Qualifications
- •Bachelor’s degree with Biology or recognized equivalent
- •Minimum of (4) years’ experience in a laboratory
- •Minimum (3) years’ experience in cell & gene therapy
- •The Research Associate requires a strong background in cell culture and flow cytometry, with essential experience in research related to cell and gene therapy
- •Experience in cellular therapy products and culture of stem cells
- •Knowledge of sterile techniques required for cellular therapy product handling and manipulation
- •Knowledge of the use of liquid nitrogen, to provide a safe, compliant, and cost-effective cryogenic environment
- •Demonstrate the ability to perform standard data analysis and calculations
- •Demonstrate ability to prioritize required duties and responsibilities
- •Excellent oral and written communication skills
- •Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- •Ability to work both independently and within teams
- •Time management skills
- •Flexibility to adjust to changes in schedules, working hours, and procedures
- •Position may require extended hours at intervals
- •Ability to work in highly stressful situations
- •Travel as needed to attend relevant industry conferences to meet continuing education requirements

Responsibilities
- •This position primarily focuses on a research project involving the expansion of Hematopoietic Stem Cells from mobilized blood
- •Additionally, the Research Associate will assist with other research projects as needed
- •Adhere to GDP/GTP guidelines
- •Work with CSO and R&D Lead to execute research projects and troubleshoot data
- •Execute experiments needed for the expansion of HSCs (cell culture etc.)
- •Perform flow cytometry (Cytoflex) to assess cell viability and phenotype
- •Perform isolation of CD34+ cells by using CliniMACS Prodigy or magnetic beads as needed
- •Culture CD34+ cells and MSCs (Mesenchymal Stem Cells)
- •Uses aseptic techniques while performing cell processing/culture procedures
- •Perform CFU (Colony Forming Unit) and migration assays
- •Support other R&D Scientists with experiments
- •Read literature
- •Write publications with CSO and R&D Lead
- •Present the data at seminars and conferences as required
- •Uses aseptic techniques while performing cell processing/culture procedures
- •Maintain open communication with CSO and R&D Lead to coordinate, schedule, and perform experiments required by the project
- •Maintains accurate inventory of cryopreserved products (CD34+)
- •Ensure documentation is accurate, complete, comprehensive, and well maintained
- •Assist the manufacturing team as needed
- •Other duties and procedures assigned
- •Travel may also be required
