RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform routine administrative and clerical duties to support smooth clinical service or physician practice office operations.
• Make patient appointments and maintain accurate appointment records.
• Greet and assist patients with outstanding care and integrity.
• Answer telephones, assist callers with routine inquiries, and schedule appointments.
• File materials in patient folders and print appointment schedules.
• Handle patient billing forms and scan documents into patient medical records/LMR.
• Request patient medical records and laboratory test results.
• Open and distribute unit mail or faxes.
• Type forms, records, schedules, memos, and other documents as directed.
• Accept co-payments when required.
• Handle, screen, and take messages related to prior authorizations, provider questions, prescription refills, and test results.
• Act as the "Super User" for scheduling, registration, and billing systems, providing assistance and training to others in these areas.
• Perform more complex or specialized functions, such as surgical scheduling and schedule changes/blocking, at an advanced proficiency level.
REQUIREMENTS:
• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Strong ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
• Proficiency in computer systems and software used in a clinical setting.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Diligent with a high level of accuracy in all tasks.
• Dedication to maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy.

EDUCATION
• High School Diploma or Equivalent required
LICENSES AND CREDENTIALS:
• Certified Medical Administrative Assistant [CMAA] - preferred
EXPERIENCE:
• Office experience 2-3 years required

We are currently hiring a full-time, 40-hour Practice Assistant to work on site Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm! Our Practice Assistants play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients!
