Job Description

The therapist will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to uphold trauma-informed, evidence-based care practices while ensuring operational excellence at both facilities.

Key Responsibilities
• Conduct initial assessments, develop personalized treatment plans, and facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions.
• Collaborate in multidisciplinary team meetings to evaluate and adjust treatment strategies for optimal client outcomes.
• Facilitate psychoeducational and process groups, utilizing trauma-informed modalities such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, and other evidence-based interventions.
• Provide crisis intervention, safety assessments, and coordinate referrals for higher levels of care when necessary.
• Monitor client progress, maintaining timely, accurate clinical records and performing utilization reviews.
• Oversee milieu therapy at both facilities, ensuring therapeutic engagement and adherence to program standards.
• Actively contribute to program development, quality improvement initiatives, and cross-facility collaboration to enhance service delivery.
• Develop and implement comprehensive discharge and relapse prevention plans for clients.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions using evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches, including CBT, DBT, EMDR, Brain Spotting, and other modalities tailored to client needs. EMDR Experience Preferred.

Minimum Qualifications
• Education: Master’s or doctoral degree in a mental health-related field (AMFT, ACSW, LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, PsyD, or PhD).
• Licensing: Active California license preferred.
• Experience: At least 2 years in trauma-informed care, substance use treatment, and PHP/IOP settings. Experience in detox and luxury or executive-level treatment environments preferred. EMDR Training a plus.

• Expertise in trauma-focused modalities, substance use treatment, and crisis management.
• Experience with group and individual sessions.
• Strong client engagement and multicultural counseling skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in clinical documentation, including treatment plans, progress notes, and utilization reviews.
• Adept at program development and implementing best practice models.
• Strong organizational, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
• Commitment to cultural competence, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Proficient in providing trauma-informed therapeutic interventions, such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, Brain Spotting, and other specialized trauma-focused approaches.

Physical Demands
• Prolonged periods of sitting, with occasional light to moderate lifting.
• Emotional resilience to handle varied psychosocial needs of clients and families.
• Reliable transportation for travel between Mission Viejo and San Juan Capistrano facilities.

Work Environment
