Job Description
nclude pediatric services for children ages 0-12 and their caregivers. Here at CCH, we recognize that ongoing learning and professional development is essential to providing quality therapeutic services to all our clients. Therefore, all staff receive individualized professional development training through one-on-one and group clinical supervision/consultation. Training includes advanced clinical application of models such as family systems therapy, structural family therapy, psychodynamic theories, developmental models, group dynamics, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, transactional analysis, Jungian theory, and depth psychology. Applicants with a strong desire for professional learning and growth are most likely to be a good fit.
Serving children from birth to their early teens, our approach integrates family therapy, developmentally informed models, models recognizing individual differences, relationship-based models, as well as principles of trauma-informed care. Our mental health therapists not only help assess and treat children who are struggling with emotional regulation, trauma, and developmental disorders, but additionally provide parents with tools, skills, and family therapy as a consistent treatment support.
We place a strong emphasis on partnering with the caregivers and families of the children we serve, within sessions and between sessions. Parents and family members are frequently involved in treatment sessions with the children as well as attend regular parenting support sessions. Our goal is to equip caregivers with additional tools and skills while empowering them to help their children heal and grow.
Role Description
Currently hiring mental health therapists to meet expanding community needs. Suitable candidates are therapists experienced with family therapy and child-centered, non-talk-reliant therapies which utilize developmentally appropriate child engagement. Candidates interested in developing these skills are also welcome to apply.
Other therapy centers that are unfamiliar with the needs of children often expect therapists to work with inadequate and incomplete toys and resources. However, treatment spaces at Birch Forest are fully equipped with a wide spectrum of equipment and toys to provide clinicians the tools necessary to offer top-quality treatment outcomes for children and families. Spaces include arts and crafts of many varieties, sensory toys and bins, extensive imaginative play toys, multiple spaces with equipment for swings, slides, ball pits, and a fully functional kitchen for practicing baking and other life skills. For children struggling with sensory related stimulation, an entire room is dedicated to supporting sensory regulation.
Applicants must have an LCSW/LCPC or LSW/LPC working towards 4-letter credential and be seeking a full-time position. Immediate scheduling needs will be primarily in the after school and evening hours. Weekend schedules available if interested.
