Responsibilities
• Implement individualized behavior intervention plans designed by supervising behavior analysts to promote skill development and reduce challenging behaviors.
• Collect accurate data on client behaviors and progress, ensuring all medical documentation and records are maintained in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as grooming, feeding, toileting, and other self-care routines, fostering independence.
• Use evidence-based behavioral therapy techniques to teach communication, social skills, and functional life skills tailored to each client's needs.
• Collaborate with team members, families, and caregivers to ensure consistency in treatment approaches and provide training on behavior management strategies.
• Maintain detailed documentation of sessions, progress notes, care plans, and medical records to support ongoing treatment planning.
• Adhere strictly to confidentiality standards and HIPAA guidelines while managing sensitive client information.
Requirements
• Prior experience or training in behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), or working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Strong understanding of special education principles and behavior management techniques.
• Ability to work effectively with children and individuals with autism in various settings.
• Excellent data collection skills for tracking client progress accurately during sessions.
• Compassionate attitude with a focus on patient care and promoting positive behavioral change.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, documentation practices, and familiarity with HIPAA compliance is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications in behavior analysis or related fields are advantageous.
