Position Summary
• The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT®) is a paraprofessional who practices under the ongoing supervision of the building administrator and an LCS Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The RBT is primarily responsible for directly implementing student‑specific behavior management/support services.
Essential Functions
• Implement student-specific behavior management/support plans under the supervision of the BCBA, Principal, and in consultation with the Behavior Coach.
• Assist classroom teachers in gathering data specific to the student‑specific goals for assigned students.
• Implement programming to increase student academic stamina and deliver pre‑determined reinforcement while the student completes classroom tasks.
• Assist assigned students with self-regulation during large and small group activities.
• Implement strategies to build student SEL competencies while participating in instruction.
• Provide daily updates on assigned students’ progress toward mastery of behavioral goals.
• Provide behavior‑specific redirection to assigned students when the behavior affects the student’s learning or the learning of others.
• Supervise assigned students during unstructured time such as lunch and recess. These assignments will differ from general IA lunch and recess duties as they are student specific for behavior programming purposes.
• The RBT will work closely with and under the guidance of the behavior coach (when the positions are in the same physical location) in order to implement unified, comprehensive, and systematic behavior programming.

Education and Experience
• High School Diploma or GED. Minimum of sixty (60) credit hours from an accredited post‑secondary institution or career technical facility; or an Associate’s Degree; or successfully completed the Para Pro assessment. The successful applicant must agree to complete 40 hours of RBT Online training within 1 month of employment. The applicant will need to pass the RBT certification exam to become certified after hire.

Successful completion of the RBT training certificate is required for ongoing employment as an RBT.
