Location: Fort Detrick, MD (On-site with some local and travel required for meetings)
Position Type: Full-Time, On-site
Clearance Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible to obtain a DoD Secret clearance (Interim Secret may be required to start).
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Program Analyst to support DoD-sponsored medical research efforts focused on brain health and blast-related injuries. This is not a laboratory research role; it involves program management, research analysis, and high-level executive communication support. The successful candidate will work directly with both military and civilian personnel and collaborate with other contractors to ensure the success of critical research programs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide program management support to DoD-sponsored biomedical research programs aimed at preventing, mitigating, and treating blast-related injuries.
• Identify knowledge gaps and shape research programs accordingly, promoting information sharing among medical, intelligence, operational, and material development communities.
• Facilitate collaborative research between DoD labs, federal agencies, academic institutions, and industry to leverage resources and accelerate the delivery of blast injury prevention and treatment strategies.
• Develop and conduct analyses of program and technical data, preparing information products, and providing recommendations to leadership.
• Track, analyze, and report on DoD blast research efforts and assess the state-of-science in the global community.
• Coordinate enterprise-wide DoD blast injury research efforts and represent the team in various forums.
• Assist in the preparation of executive-level communications and briefings, including slide decks and meeting organization.
• Work across a wide range of rapidly changing and divergent management issues with minimal oversight.
Must-Have Qualifications:
• Hard Skills:
• Experience in program or project management.
• Demonstrated expertise in DoD science and technology management, particularly in military medical research.
• Experience in research analysis and the development of executive-level communications.
• Soft Skills:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and project management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative while maintaining attention to detail.
• Ability to interact competently with individuals at all levels of responsibility.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
• Familiarity with military medical research, particularly regarding traumatic brain injury (TBI).
• Experience with managing research programs in a highly visible, evolving environment.
• Familiarity with DoD Directive 6025.21E and its application to blast injury research.
Education:
• PhD (or equivalent degree/masters with relevant experience) in a field related to blast injuries (e.g., biomedical science, neuroscience, human physiology, etc.).
Pay:
• Pay rate up to 69/h W2
