Position Overview
In this environment, functional communication and socialization are essential components of student development. As part of a multidisciplinary clinical team-including speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and diagnostic professionals-you will assess communication abilities and provide targeted interventions designed to promote meaningful progress in academic, social, and daily-living skills.
Therapy targets may include:
• Vocabulary development
• Receptive language and following directions
• Expressive language and answering questions
• Pragmatics and social communication
• Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS)
Responsibilities
• Conduct comprehensive speech-language evaluations and participate in diagnostic assessments.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on physician orders and student needs.
• Provide direct therapy services and document progress in accordance with the plan of care.
• Collaborate with educators, related service providers, and caregivers to support student success.
• Maintain full compliance with federal, state, local, and professional standards.
Minimum Requirements
• Active Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license in the state of assignment.
• CCC-SLP preferred and may be required based on contract or state guidelines.
• Adherence to professional standards of practice.
• Current CPR certification, if applicable.
• TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray as required.
• Current health certificate per state or contract requirements.
• Must meet all federal, state, and local regulations.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• SLP - CCC PEL candidates welcome.
Assignment Details
• Setting: Therapeutic day environment serving students with autism and complex communication needs
• Schedule: 37.5 hours per week
• Pay Rate: $75 per hour
• Start Date: ASAP
• End Date: End of the current school year
• Attendance: In-person only
