About Heatwave SWFL

Heatwave SWFL is an adaptive sports program dedicated to helping children with autism and other developmental differences build confidence, develop athletic skills, and have fun in a supportive environment. Through basketball, baseball, and adaptive sports programming, we create opportunities for every athlete to succeed on and off the field.

Position Overview

We are seeking energetic, patient, and reliable coaches who are passionate about working with children. Coaches will lead small-group sports sessions focused on skill development, teamwork, confidence building, and positive reinforcement.

No prior coaching experience is required—we provide training. Experience working with children, education, special needs, ABA, therapy, youth sports, or recreation is a plus.

Responsibilities
• Lead engaging basketball, baseball, and adaptive sports activities
• Create a positive and inclusive environment for athletes
• Encourage participation and celebrate individual successes
• Communicate professionally with parents and staff
• Set up and break down equipment before and after sessions
• Ensure athlete safety at all times
• Serve as a positive role model for participants

Qualifications

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
