Job Description
am, Autism Innovation in Motion (AIM) and are proud to offer our clients and families the best care. We are seeking applicants for our Behavior Techenician positions in FARGO.
WHAT DOES THE JOB LOOK LIKE?
This position provides intensive one-to-one and group therapy for children with autism. Children with autism learn in unique ways. For that reason, consistency is highly important. We use a model of intervention that is considered best practice (Applied Behavior Analysis), and closely oversee programming to improve learning efficiencies and achieve outcomes that are important to families. Prior to working independently, extensive training is provided to our staff, with ongoing direct supervision following the development of these skills. You would be provided training during your first few weeks of employment to achieve specialized certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). This position primarily works out of Solutions’ developmental clinic, though some sessions may occur in-home or other community settings.
The Behavior Technician helps children with autism learn any number of life skills, such as communication, social skills, flexibility, emotional and self-management skills, and self-care. This training is part of an Individual Treatment Plan, which is developed and overseen by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. The Behavior Technician records progress using advanced technology, which allows progress to be clearly visible.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Solutions is looking for someone who loves working and playing with young children! This position does not have the requirement for a college degree. We need someone with good “people” skills, someone who is energetic, kind, and patient. An ideal candidate is someone who is willing to learn specialized intervention skills and implement these consistently. They would have the skills to work in a brisk clinic setting. They would strive towards cultural competence. The individual hired for this position must pass a criminal background check.
WHY APPLY?
Solutions is a non-profit organization with a meaningful social mission. This is a rewarding position for someone who enjoys working with children and wants to develop skills in a specialized area. It is also a great position for someone who wants to get their foot in the door in the human service field. Full and part time positions are available, as well as some extended work day hours. We offer a great compensation and benefit package, including health, dental, vision, 401k plan with up to 4% match, Paid Time Off, life insurance, short and long term disability, accident and hospital indemnity insurance. Working in our non-profit agency may qualify employees for forgiveness of federal student loans. We value a good work/life balance. The Behavior Therapist receives comprehensive and specialized training, allowing them to become a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). The work of this position is highly supported by peers and supervisors.
AAP/EEO STATEMENT:
Solutions does not discriminate in employment with regard to race, creed, national origin, political affiliation, marital status, age, gender, sexual orientation, or number of dependents. In fact, Solutions values diversity in its work force. As part of the Solutions team, no provider or staff member shall aid, coerce, or conspire to cause a termination or resignation of another team member because of illegal discriminatory factors.
