Qualifications

• •Eligibility to apply for one of three Loan Repayment Programs, including the HRSA LRP
• •Current licensure as an MD/DO to practice in the State of MA by the State Board of Medical Examiners
• •Current DEA, State Controlled Substance certification
• •Three (3) or more years of supervisory skills
• •Valid MA Driver's License
• •Must be able to meet and maintain current credentialing and privileging requirements
• •Excellent written and oral communication skills
• •Results-proven track record of exceeding goals
• •High level of business acumen and understanding of budgets, financial statements and reports, and strategic planning
• •Ability to balance the delivery of programs against the realities of a budget

Responsibilities

• •This role involves collaborating with the CEO and senior management to execute the organization's mission and vision, overseeing medical teams in utilization management, population health, clinician engagement, safety, quality, and patient engagement
• •The Medical Director will advocate for medical teams, providing a medical perspective to decision-making for patient-centered, cost-effective primary care, and improved health outcomes
• •Oversees and directs all medical teams in utilization management, population health and wellness, clinician engagement, safety and quality, and patient engagement
• •Ensures continuing development as a Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH)
• •Serve as the clinical spokesperson for the organization, expressing the collective vision and principles endorsed by leadership and the board of directors
• •Provide leadership and advocacy regarding the development and utilization of stable, reliable, and customer-oriented HER and IT systems
• •Consult with patients to obtain history, perform physical examinations, order lab and other tests, and prescribe medications and treatments
• •Provide continuity in managed care for patients with pre-existing long-term problems
• •Make referrals for secondary and tertiary care
• •Perform medical procedures according to privileges issued
• •Provide health maintenance visits, evaluating for immunizations, and providing anticipatory guidance and referrals; performing contract and special physical examinations as required by privileges issued
• •Document all patient contact accurately and legibly on the medical record
• •Must be willing to work evening hours and weekends if necessary
