Job Description

The Charleston Program Coordinator will work in the Social Skills, Saturday Respite, and Knights programs up to 19 hours per each 2-week pay period for a total of 38 hours per month. Hours for the ILST role varies. The Charleston Program Coordinator and ILST must be available to work evenings and weekends.

Primary Responsibilities and Specific Duties: (Social Skills, Knights, Saturday Respite)

Lead, Manage, accountability of Saturday Respite, Knights and Social Skills Programs and Staff.

Supervise and train Staff, Interns and/or Volunteers assigned to the programs.

Manage programs to include intake, waitlists, attendance records and current participant lists

Create and maintain professional relationships with families, program participants, staff, interns, volunteers, and community partners.

Collaborate with community partners for program activities.

Ensure processes are in place for seamless programming.

Ensure quality assurance of programs.

Program outreach to recruit new program participants.

Arrive in a timely fashion to the program site and make sure the facility is ready for the program participants.

Complete and submit Incident Reports within 24 hours as necessary.

Maintain supplies necessary to adequately run the program.

Lock the facility and secure the site

Attend all EOS meetings as required

Demonstrate all SOS Care Core Values

Other duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities and Duties: Social Skills Program

Track progress, collect data and take notes on behavioral issues

Provide feedback to family/guardian on the progress and identified skills to be reinforced at home

Conduct quarterly assessments

Primary Responsibilities and Specific Duties: ILST

Provide person-centered independent living skills training to waiver participants in the areas of communication skills, community living and mobility, interpersonal skills, reduction/elimination of problem behavior, self-care, and sensory/motor development involved in acquiring functional skills.

Complete assessments for each assigned participant.

Follow each participant’s Plan of Care with minimal supervision.

Collect data and enter service notes into Therap.

Create and maintain professional relationships with families, program participants, and community partners.

Transport participants in the community to work on goals, if necessary.

Attend all EOS meetings as required

Demonstrate all SOS Care Core Values

Other duties as assigned.

Breakdown of hours:

Saturday Respite Schedule and Hour Breakdown

2nd/3rd Saturdays/month 9:45am-2:15pm

9 hours onsite, 9 hours monthly planning

Social Skills Schedule and Hour Breakdown

Tuesday/Thursday 4:45pm-6:15pm

3 hours/week onsite, 2 hours monthly planning

Knights Schedule and Hour Breakdown

2nd/4th Fridays 6:15pm-8:45pm

5 hours/month onsite, 1-hour monthly planning

SOS Care Expectations: The Charleston Program Coordinator / ILST is expected to adhere to established policies and procedures as presented to staff during the Relias training period and as written in the SOS Care Policy Manual, including Dress Code Policy and Time Off/Leave Policy. Must maintain open communication with all team

members on a regular basis and report problems or issues to your supervisor in a timely fashion. Staff will be reviewed periodically and in turn, an annual assessment of performance will be completed to review and discuss competency of responsibilities and duties as listed.

Qualifications: The Charleston Program Coordinator / ILST must be at least 18 years old and will have at least a high school diploma/equivalent and related experience in the field of ASD/Intellectual disabilities/services. Must meet the requirements of all criminal background checks. Must have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and provide proof of motor vehicle insurance and be willing to drive participants in personal vehicle. Must have references from past employment. Must obtain CPR/FA certification. A general understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder/Intellectual disabilities is important in understanding the goals and mission of the organization. A love for working with children and adults who have ASD/Intellectual disabilities is essential to the success of the individual in this position. Working knowledge and experience in education or psychology is helpful. Multitasking and attention to details are necessary. Patience, ability to lead, excellent communication, both written and orally, are essential.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: Up to $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 9.5 – 20 per week
