As a Special Education Instructional Aide, you will play a vital role in providing personalized support to students in Grades K-12. You will collaborate with teachers and educational professionals to implement individualized strategies that enhance both classroom and community experiences for our students.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver personalized curriculum and behavioral interventions tailored to each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP), Individual Transition Plan (ITP), and Positive Behavior Intervention Plan (PBIP).
• Regularly consult with supervisors regarding student progress and necessary adjustments to educational plans.
• Assist in implementing classroom schedules, aligning activities with academic and vocational objectives.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student behaviors and provide insightful observations to staff.
• Engage in proactive data collection and analysis to support the development of behavioral assessments.
• Provide job coaching and vocational training, mentoring students in essential job-related skills.
• Support students with physical care needs while ensuring their dignity and comfort.
• Monitor classroom safety and address potential concerns proactively.
• Comply with company policies and report any concerns immediately.
• Utilize effective crisis intervention techniques to ensure a safe environment.
• Contribute to classroom organization, maintenance, and the general safety of the learning environment.
• Participate actively in team-based activities, encouraging collaboration and mutual respect.
• Assist with classroom operations and special projects, including substitute teaching when necessary.
• Train and support new staff to ensure a smooth integration into the team.
• Help in planning educational materials and maintaining detailed student progress records.
• Work diligently to ensure student safety during transportation routes.
Qualifications Required:
• Bachelor's degree or higher in education or a related field.
• Ability to obtain a CA Emergency 30-Day Substitute Permit within 90 days of employment.
• Valid CA state driver's license or the ability to obtain one.
• Experience working with children, particularly in educational or behavioral health settings.
• Proficiency in supporting students with learning disabilities, emotional behavioral disorders, and autism spectrum disorders.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to remain calm and make decisions in emergency situations.
• Familiarity with technology and basic office equipment.
