Summary Moffitt Research Institute is recruiting for a CTLC Supervisor in the Clinical Trails Laboratory Core in Tampa, FL. Position Highlights: The Clinical Trials Laboratory Core is seeking a motivated leader to supervise a team in a fast-paced environment focused on research specimen processing and shipping. The ideal candidate should have working knowledge of clinical research practices related to sampling design and conduct, as well as the ability to provide hands-on oversight and adjust staff schedules based on daily priorities. Responsibilities: Creating and managing daily staff assignments and on-call schedules. Monitoring daily volumes and adjusting staffing as needed. Troubleshooting kit and collection issues in real time. Assisting with preparation, processing, and shipping tasks. Ensures well-organized workflows and file of protocol specific data on a weekly basis. Ensures the team maintains laboratory equipment in a clean and working order including performing instrumentstandardization and freezer maintenance. Serves as a primary resource to members of the Clinical Trials Office Maintains QA program for the team which includes: Keeps self-current with laboratory trends and techniques, includingbiosafety and IATA 1.5 diagnostic shipping training and certification. Follows infection control techniques for preparation, handling, and possible disposal of samples. 95% of the time in a laboratory, in the presence of reagents and dry ice while handling human biological fluids. 5% of the time in location customers around the cancer center, including clinical units, hospital patient floors and wings. Credential/Qualifications An Associate’s degree in Medical Technology or similar relevant field of study is required and a minimum of 7 years’ experience in a biological science related field including: 4 years of experience in clinical research within a multi-user shared resource and 2 years’ experience hiring, leading training, mentoring and evaluating staff. Bachelors degree is related field is preferred. Academic lab work experience acceptable. Core Facility, Clinical Lab or Basic ScienceResearch experience preferred.
