RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

RBT Responsibilities
• Implement individualized ABA programs targeting communication/language, social skills, fine/gross motor, self-help, pre-academics, and behavior reduction.
• Provide direct 1:1 ABA using Discrete Trial Training (DTT) and Natural Environment Teaching/Training (NET).
• Accurately collect session data; participate in ongoing data review and feedback.
• Maintain client confidentiality (HIPAA) and follow organizational privacy standards.
• Utilize safe and appropriate behavior support procedures at all times.
• Collaborate in team meetings; communicate progress and relevant updates to supervisors and parents/guardians as directed by the BCBA.
• Participate in ongoing training and supervision to obtain/maintain RBT certification.
• After completing initial training: implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) with high treatment integrity; recognize and promptly escalate concerns to the supervising BCBA.
• After completing initial training: assist in onboarding peers by modeling program fidelity (as directed by the BCBA).

School-Based & Advanced Responsibilities (Post-Competency; Supervisor Approval Required)

These duties are performed only after the RBT has been with Peak for ~6–12 months, completed targeted training, demonstrated competence, and received supervisor sign-off.
• Collaboration & PBIS support: Work alongside school and district staff to model positive behavior support strategies consistent with school-wide PBIS practices.
• Implementation support: Implement BIPs and instructional strategies in classrooms; model procedures for teachers/paraprofessionals as directed by the BCBA.
• Data practices: Support data collection systems in school settings (e.g., frequency, duration, ABC data); help train staff on basic data procedures as assigned by the BCBA.
• Assessment support: Assist BCBAs with observations and data gathering that inform FBAs/BIPs (RBTs do not independently conduct FBAs or write BIPs).
• Behavior coaching: Demonstrate behavior management techniques and proactive strategies; reinforce non-aversive, reinforcement-based approaches.
• Generalization & integrity: Help promote skill generalization across settings; participate in treatment integrity spot-checks and feedback loops (as directed).
• Meetings & documentation: Attend school meetings (e.g., MTSS, IEP) with BCBA guidance; maintain accurate notes, recommendations relayed by the BCBA, and follow-up actions.
• Travel: Travel to assigned school sites for observations, implementation support, and program recommendations guided by the supervising BCBA.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Master’s degree preferred; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, or a related field will also be considered.
• Must obtain and maintain Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification (training and supervision provided).
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to client sites.
• Ability to work independently while following treatment plans and supervisor guidance.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to ongoing training, supervision, and professional growth.
