Responsibilities
• Under the direct supervision and guidance from the Residential Manager and House Manager this position serves as a mid-level direct support professional with the following responsibilities:
Supervises, assists, and trains consumers with autism in performing daily living skills such as cooking, personal grooming, and social skills. Implements identified therapeutic treatment plans and all other prescribed behavior and/or motivational plans. Records and/or charts data, as required.
• Supervises, assists, and trains consumers with autism in performing community-oriented activities.
• Assists in maintaining the operation and cleanliness of the residence and vehicles, including housekeeping and food preparation.
• Administers prescription and over-the-counter medication in the manner prescribed by the physician and/or pharmacist. Maintains required documentation in accordance with agency, division and relevant medical standards.
• Maintains accountability of consumers who live in the residence and provides a safe and clean environment. Demonstrates an understanding and working competency using Therap.
• Demonstrates an understanding and working competency of the staff specific items as listed on the most current Residential Observation Review Tool.
• Attends scheduled staff meetings, completes all necessary reports within the required time frames, ensures all certifications and other training requirements remain current.
• Responsible for reporting significant events and suspected abuse immediately per Agency and Office policies and procedures.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Location
This position is located at the Coastal Autism Community Training Home (CTH) located in Charleston, SC serving residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
In accordance with the State’s Disaster Plan, which includes hazardous weather, employees may be required to work in times of an emergency or disaster.
Compensation and Benefits
This position is eligible for up to $3.50/hour shift differential for applicable shifts!
Sign-on bonus for eligible candidates will be distributed after three, six, nine, and twelve months of successful continuous Full-Time employment.
Qualifications
A High School Diploma or GED, and three (3) years of experience working with Individuals with Disabilities and Special Needs. A valid Drivers License.
Administrative abilities and general knowledge of intellectual disabilities. Basic computer skills to include the use of Therap and SCEIS Central for time and leave purposes (Electronic Documentation System). Knowledge of relevant federal and state regulations and basic safety practices.
Physical abilities including lifting, pushing, standing, stooping, kneeling, and running. Ability to work with individuals who may be physically aggressive or medically fragile. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally. Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments for certain periods of time.

Employment is contingent upon our receipt of the following required pre-employment screenings: medical screening – to include a drug screening; background record checks (to include fingerprinting);
South Carolina Department of Social Services’ Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry screening; U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General List of Excluded Individuals/Entities screening;
