Job Description

### What You'll Be Doing

Your day-to-day work will involve assisting SLPs in conducting individual or group therapy sessions where you'll help implement treatment plans tailored to each student's needs. You'll assist with speech and language screenings and evaluations, gathering important data on student performance to support ongoing care. Preparing therapy rooms, gathering necessary equipment, and organizing therapy materials are part of creating an effective learning environment.

You'll communicate with students and other professionals to meet their emotional needs while managing student behavior using appropriately designed techniques. Recording and summarizing target behaviors during therapy sessions gives you insight into student progress, and you'll organize and manage student data and records to keep everything running smoothly. Operating and monitoring therapy equipment and materials is part of the role as well.

Providing feedback to students and caregivers is essential—you'll educate them on exercises and strategies to improve communication skills at home and in the classroom. Collaborating with SLPs, teachers, and other healthcare professionals ensures coordinated, comprehensive care. Note that this role will be split between three schools, so you'll work across multiple locations.

### What We're Looking For

You'll need a Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university and active Colorado Department of Education (DOE) certification as an SLPA. Experience working in a school setting is important, preferably with K-12 populations. We're seeking someone with strong interpersonal communication skills, genuine compassion, patience, and adaptability. Attention to detail matters in this role, as does your ability to collaborate effectively with supervising speech-language pathologists and school personnel.

### Physical and Environmental Requirements

You should be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds and sit for extended periods. You'll need to communicate orally and in writing with parents, staff, and community leaders. The position requires physical capability to perform kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, and repetitive motions. Hand and finger dexterity for accurate computer data input and output is necessary. You'll work in a high traffic, indoor environment and must be able to work flexible hours as needed.

### Compensation and Benefits

The pay range is $19.20 to $24.00 per hour, commensurate with your experience, education, and market conditions as defined by NHA. This is just one component of our total compensation package. NHA provides excellent benefits for benefit-eligible positions, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, prescription benefits, supplemental accident and critical illness insurance, flexible spending accounts, life insurance and disability protection, retirement savings through a 401(k) plan, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and professional development opportunities.

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the role.
