Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certification in Gastroenterology
  • Active and unrestricted Texas medical license
  • DEA license & BLS/ACLS certification
  • Prior experience in clinical research or clinical trials
  • Must have a own private practice
  • Familiarity with EHR systems and clinical trial platforms (EDC, CTMS)

Responsibilities

  • This role involves serving as a Principal Investigator (PI) or Sub-Investigator (Sub-I) to support Phase I-IV clinical trials
  • The physician will oversee protocol compliance, ensure patient safety, and collaborate with sponsors, CROs, and research teams to successfully execute clinical studies
  • Serve as Principal Investigator (PI) or Sub-Investigator (Sub-I) for clinical trials
  • Conduct medical screenings, physical exams, and specialty assessments for study participants
  • Provide clinical oversight and patient care in accordance with study protocols and regulatory standards (ICH-GCP)
  • Monitor and document adverse events (AEs/SAEs) and ensure accurate reporting
  • Collaborate with study coordinators, nurses, and research staff for protocol adherence
  • Maintain accurate documentation in EHR and clinical trial systems (EDC/CTMS)
  • Participate in site initiation visits, monitoring visits, and audits
  • Build and maintain relationships with sponsors, CROs, IRBs, and monitors
  • Contribute to protocol feasibility, study design input, and recruitment strategies
  • Attend investigator meetings and provide subject matter expertise in gastroenterology
  • Stay current with clinical research regulations and advancements in the field
