Job Description
Job Opportunity: Teacher for Special Needs Home Enrichment Program
Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of children with special needs? Do you want to apply your educational expertise in a fulfilling environment? If so, we would love to hear from you!
About the Role:
We are looking for a compassionate, dynamic, and dedicated teacher to join our home enrichment program specifically designed for children with special needs. Our approach is grounded in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), providing you the opportunity to utilize ABA techniques while creating personalized educational experiences.
This role is perfect for a Certified Teacher with an education background who is eager to gain hands-on experience and professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement engaging, individualized enrichment activities based on ABA principles to cater to each child's unique learning needs.
• Create and maintain a positive, nurturing, and structured learning environment.
• Work directly under the daily guidance of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
• Collaborate with families to establish and attain developmental and educational objectives.
• Apply ABA strategies to enhance learning, communication, and social skills.
• Keep detailed documentation of each child's progress and make necessary adjustments in your teaching methods.
• Provide classroom instruction and educational support to students from 8 AM to 2 PM, Monday through Friday.
• Engage in lesson planning and/or providing ABA services from 2 PM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday.
What We’re Looking For:
• Bachelor's Degree in Special Education, Exceptional Student Education (ESE), or Curriculum & Instruction.
• A valid Florida Educator Certificate is required.
• Willingness to obtain a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification within the first 60 days of employment (training provided).
• At least 2 years of instructional experience in a Florida classroom, structured homeschool setting, or working one-on-one with neurodivergent learners.
• Experience in developing Individualized Support Plans (ISP) with the supervision of a BCBA is preferred.
• Small class ratios: You will work with a 1:3 student ratio instead of in overcrowded public school classrooms. An assistant will also be provided to help with daily tasks.
• A genuine passion for working with children with special needs, demonstrating a patient and empathetic attitude.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, coupled with creative problem-solving abilities and a positive mindset.
• Familiarity with ABA principles is advantageous but not mandatory, as training will be provided!
• Salary range is between $50,000 - $55,000 annually.
What We Offer:
• Attractive salary and comprehensive compensation package.
• Full benefits including medical, dental, vision, flexible spending account (FSA), health savings account (HSA), life insurance, voluntary life insurance, short-term disability, accident insurance, and a 401K plan with a generous employer match.
• Guidance through RBT training and competency assessment if you have teaching credentials but lack behavior certifications.
• Ongoing training in ABA techniques and professional development opportunities.
• Career growth plans, including opportunities to gain supervisory hours towards BCBA certification.
• A collaborative and supportive work environment where your contributions can make a real difference in the lives of children and their families.
