Job Description
Sonatix Wellness is an outpatient mental health clinic dedicated to providing compassionate, client-centered care that empowers individuals to reach their full potential. Through our school-based behavioral integration programs, we partner with local schools to support students' mental, behavioral, and social-emotional well-being. Our services include classroom instruction, individualized student support, behavioral small groups, and professional development for school staff. By collaborating closely with school administrators and Special Education teams, we help create safe, supportive environments where students can learn, grow, and thrive.
Position
Sonatix Wellness is seeking a Behavioral Specialist to support our behavioral integration program at Ranches Academy, a K–6 charter school in Eagle Mountain, Utah. This is a part-time job, focused on the school-year. The Behavioral Specialist works directly with students, faculty, and school leadership to provide behavioral, social-emotional, and educational support services.
The Behavioral Specialist will facilitate classroom lessons, lead behavioral small groups, conduct student observations, provide one-on-one student support, and collaborate with school staff to promote positive student outcomes.
Schedule
• Typical schedule: Tuesday–Thursday, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• During the second week of each month: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday
• Hours may vary based on preparation needs and program requirements
Responsibilities
• Prepare and teach classroom behavioral and social-emotional learning lessons
• Facilitate behavioral small groups designed to support student growth and development.
• Conduct student observations and collaborate with school staff regarding behavioral support strategies.
• Prepare for and conduct individualized one-on-one lessons and interventions
• Adapt lesson plans and instructional approaches to meet the changing needs of participating students.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming, and organized classroom environment.
• Ensure designated support spaces remain clean, and accessible
• Document daily activities, interventions, observations, and student interactions.
Qualifications
• Experience working with children in grades K–6.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently
• Comfortable facilitating whole-class instruction.
• Understanding of behavioral, social-emotional, and mental health support
• Experience working in school settings leading social or behavioral groups
• Knowledge of mental health awareness and social-emotional learning practices.
• Educational background or coursework in: Recreation Therapy (RT), Elementary, Education/ Early Childhood Development, Psychology/ Social Work
Work Environment
This position is primarily performed on-site at Ranches Academy and involves active engagement with elementary-aged students throughout the school day. The Behavioral Specialist should be comfortable working in classroom environments, facilitating groups, moving throughout the school, and supporting students with varying behavioral and social-emotional needs.
