Community Integration Support Specialist for Young Adult Male (18) with autism
Estimated Hours/Schedule:

Beginning July: Projected hours: 20–30 hours/week, 4–5 days/week (daytime hours)
Rate: $32/hour + mileage

Position Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated Community Integration Specialist and Communication Partner to support an 18-year-old nonspeaking autistic young man as he transitions from high school into adult life. This role focuses on facilitating meaningful participation in the community, including college coursework, a dynamic day program, and daily life activities, while supporting access to his primary modes of communication. Training will be provided.

Gentle small poodle dog at home and Dream Community Center, must be comfortable with dogs.

Must have own vehicle, valid DL, insurance and clean driving record.

Key Responsibilities:

Support communication using a letter board and other multimodal communication methods.

Help build independent living skills at home and in the community.

Assist with participation in:

A dynamic day program (2 days/week)

Community-based activities

Weekly college classes (2 days/week), including support with coursework and engagement

Provide calm, steady support during moments of sensory overload

Encourage autonomy while maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive environment

Collaborate closely with family members, educators, and program staff

Transport the individual between home (Camarillo), day program (Westlake Village), and college (Thousand Oaks)

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• ABA or RBT Certifications a plus!
• Experience working with adolescents or adults on the autism spectrum
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
• Clean driving record and willingness to transport (mileage reimbursed, if applicable)

Preferred:
Experience as a communication partner (e.g., letter board, AAC, or other supported communication methods)

ABA, CPR and first aid certified
