• Who We Are Looking For:*
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to provide essential therapy services in the clinic and/or home health environments, helping patients achieve their functional goals.
Key Responsibilities:
_*Home Health Responsibilities:*_
• Assist in conducting home informal assessments to evaluate the patient’s environment and needs.
• Implement therapy programs tailored to the home setting, under the direction of the supervising occupational therapist.
• Educate caregivers on assisting patients with daily activities and therapeutic exercises.
• Provide compassionate support and encouragement to patients and their families.
• Document care provided and report any significant changes in the patient’s condition to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
_*In-Clinic Responsibilities:*_
• Assist occupational therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans.
• Conduct therapeutic activities to improve patients’ daily living skills, motor skills, and overall functionality.
• Monitor patients during therapy sessions and provide feedback to the supervising occupational therapist.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans, exercises, and strategies for home practice.
• Document patient progress and any changes in condition accurately and timely.
• Maintain a clean and organized therapy environment, ensuring all equipment is in good condition.
• Qualifications:*
• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current certification as an Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA).
• Valid Arizona licensure or certification as required.
• Experience in a clinical and/or home health setting preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Physical Requirements:*
• Ability to lift and assist patients as needed.
• Capacity to perform physical activities such as standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
