Job Description
o help children and their families reach their maximum potential by providing state-of-the-art applied behavioral analysis therapies and access to recreation, vocational training, and individualized education programming. Since 1957, the Hope Learning Academy has led the development of new methods to educate, treat, and care for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other intellectual and developmental disabilities.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Behavior Analyst is responsible for behavioral assessments, functional analyses, behavior program design and development, data tracking and analyses, and ongoing monitoring of programs for assigned students. Using principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), the Behavior Analyst assists students and staff in using appropriate behavioral and clinical techniques so that students may achieve targeted objectives and grow towards reaching their highest potential.
• Complete functional analysis on incoming students and others where necessary whenever a specific intervention program is appropriate and diagnostic data base is necessary.
• Design and implement data collection forms and procedures to best quantify behavior data across various environments and settings.
• Plot and systematically analyze program and baselines data in terms of levels, trends, variability, and functional relationships.
• Design behavior support plans (BSPs) based on functional analysis and data analysis results, both formal and informal, including general behavior support strategies or a detailed set of procedures outlining a positive intervention.
• Participate in and design training for new staff on basic planned interventions, data collection, ABA concepts, ASD, and other related topics.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
• Masters degree in Applied Behavior Analysis or related field with behavior analysis emphasis.
• Experience or specialized knowledge in developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, cognitive impairment, psychopharmacology, and/or mental health issues.
• Effective and professional communication skills.
• Successful background clearance and drug screening.
WHAT WE PREFER
• 2+ years of prior experience working with individuals with ASD, developmental disabilities, and/or cognitive impairment.
• 2+ years of experience in functional assessments/analyses, behavior program development/monitoring, discrete trial training, functional communication training, prompting, prompt fading, differential reinforcement, and crisis intervention strategies.
• Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) credentials or eligibility.
