olina University. The Department of Internal Medicine is comprised of ten divisions with over 85 full-time faculty and 150 support staff members. Each division has its own specialty clinic.
Position Highlights:
Employment by ECU Health Physicians
Hospital privileges at ECU Health Medical Center, a 974-bed Level I trauma center
Primarily outpatient clinical care with option to attend on one of the inpatient academic teams for interested applicants
Responsibilities will include attending coverage and leadership for our geriatric population in local nursing homes and in an outpatient Geriatric Clinic. Optional inpatient rounding with the academic team
Outpatient responsibilities will include teaching and supervising residents who are seeing patients in an outpatient Geriatric Clinic, Resident Continuity Clinic, and Resident Ambulatory Clinic, as well as seeing patients independently in faculty clinic
Schedule consists of two to three half-days per week rounding with residents in local nursing homes and educating residents on their Geriatrics rotation. The candidate will also see patients in the ECU General Internal Medicine Clinic; work there will be a combination of seeing patients in a Geriatrics-focused clinic and their own faculty clinic, as well as supervising residents in their continuity clinics
Opportunities are available to attend on the inpatient Internal Medicine service and to lead medical student small groups
