Employment Days: 190 – Exact daily hours to be determined by the supervisor

Salary Rate: $25,765 - $40,874

Teacher Assistant Application Requirements:
• Letter of Interest
• Resume
• Copy of official transcripts verifying an Associate's degree or higher from an accredited college or a minimum of 60 credit hours from an accredited college;
Original official transcripts must be provided at new hire orientation;
OR
• Copy of qualifying Praxis Paraprofessional test scores of 456 or higher. Applicants interested in taking the Paraprofessional Praxis exam can visit for additional information.
• Negative TB test results under 1 year old. BCSD strongly encourages all applicants to upload their TB test results. If the applicant has not completed the test, they must submit a Word document acknowledging that the results will be uploaded upon completion. Please note a delay in submitting TB test results will postpone the onboarding process if selected.

Paraprofessional Praxis exams are offered through Berkeley County School District and Dorchester District 2, with a registration cost of $75 that must be submitted at the time the test is administered.

Applicants will be contacted by the school/location they have applied to within 3 weeks if selected for an interview. Please do not call the district regarding interview status. Depending on the volume of applications, not all applicants may be interviewed. Applicants may be considered for multiple vacancies.
