Job Description
s more than a job it is a career that makes a positive impact every day in the lives of people with intellectual disabilities and autism. As an ASP you are directly responsible for the people supported and their overall safety and well-being, helping them achieve a rich and full life.
This shift is 40Hrs.: (7am-3pm Monday through Friday)
Preferred Requirements:
• GED or High School Diploma Required
• Valid NYS Driver’s License
• Prior experience assisting people with autism, including challenging behaviors is required
• SCIP certified or trained is preferred
Responsibilities:
• Provide support to people living in the residence including activities that encourage independence, community engagement, and group recreation trips or outings.
• Provide support and training for each person based on their wants, needs, and goals.
• Assist with activities of daily living, including self-care, to the extent needed
• Revise the residential habilitation plan to residential staff action plan and individual program plan to the person’s Life Plan
• Have scheduling flexibility; may be required to work with adjustments to the normal shift
