ABA Workforce Dynamics

The registry lists 19 BCBA credentials and 30 RBT credentials. No providers were recorded with a dual BCBA-RBT credential. These categories are not mutually exclusive with the broader credential data: taxonomy and credential fields can overlap, and some providers hold additional qualifications. The RBT-to-BCBA balance points to a direct-service workforce that is larger than its identified supervisory layer. Because BCBAs design treatment and supervise RBTs, sustaining access depends on whether the available supervisors can support the RBT workforce across Pennsylvania.

Demographics and Organizations

Among the state’s 220 individuals, 176 female providers represented 80% of the individual workforce. The registry also counted 40 male providers at 18% and 4 nonbinary providers at 2%. These gender figures describe the individual-provider subset, not all 264 records. Westmoreland Regional Hospital and Bucktail Medical Center each appeared twice, indicating repeated organizational entries rather than separate individual clinicians.

The combination of substantial weekly additions, a larger RBT pool than BCBA pool, and repeated organizational records suggests Pennsylvania’s ABA capacity is expanding, while supervisory availability remains an important constraint on broader access.
