ABA Workforce Dynamics
The ABA-specific credential mix remains small: the registry lists 2 BCBA credentials and no RBT credentials or dual BCBA-RBT credentials. Still, the absence of RBT credentials alongside two BCBAs suggests limited documented direct-service staffing in this update and a thin supervision base for ABA expansion. Demographics and Provider Footprint
Among the reported workforce, 26 providers, or 93%, were female, while 2, or 7%, were male; no nonbinary providers were recorded. Four providers had multiple taxonomies, another overlapping category that should not be added to the credential totals. No organization appeared multiple times among the notable organizations. San Juan, Cayey, Guaynabo, Bayamon and Coamo were the leading cities represented in the update.
The registry suggests Puerto Rico’s behavioral health activity is broad but not yet generating a substantial documented ABA workforce, which may constrain access to supervised ABA services as registrations grow.
