ABA credential mix

Because BCBAs supervise RBTs, that imbalance makes supervisory capacity a relevant concern for ABA operators. It is not a direct measure of staffing or caseloads, however. Credential and taxonomy labels can overlap, and the BCBA and RBT figures should not be read as shares of the entire provider count or as mutually exclusive categories.

Demographics and organizations

Women account for 123 providers (80%), men 22 (14%) and nonbinary providers 8 (5%). These figures describe the full listed provider population, not ABA professionals alone. The data names no notable organizations appearing multiple times. Richmond, Virginia Beach, Alexandria, Danville and Fairfax are the leading listed cities, indicating activity across several urban centers rather than one listed hub.

Virginia’s registry activity shows a substantial technician-to-BCBA gap in the reported ABA credentials, underscoring that access depends on growing supervisory capacity alongside the RBT workforce.
