• Partners In Excellence (Partners) is a premier autism therapy center providing autism therapy services to children in a healthcare setting.
• Our autism therapy center provides simulated environments that reflect real-life situations, enabling the children to work on their skills one-on-one or in small groups with trained behavior therapists.
• Through our paid two-week premiere training program, you will be equipped with the skills needed to apply ABA techniques to implement targeted curriculum with a variety of teaching techniques.
• Clinical staff will provide you with supervision, ongoing coaching, and professional development opportunities as you accumulate your clinical/supervision hours.
• All new staff are assigned a mentor upon hire

Our internships are paid at $15 per hour.

Responsibilities
• Works under supervision to provide direct therapy to a team of 4-6 clients following client treatment plans ensuring goals and objectives are being met
• Documents therapy services accurately and timely (e.g., daily treatment notes, data collection, reporting parent and Partners In Excellence communications and client information)
• Ability to read written treatment directions, collect numeric data, and write progress notes
• In order to effectively fulfill the duties of a BT, you will have access to protected health information (PHI) of many of Partners’ Clients. It is your responsibility to be fully knowledgeable of Partners in Excellence’s Privacy Policies and Procedures and to report any violations to their direct and/or clinical supervisor (see Partners’ Policies and Procedures – HIPAA). It is the responsibility of the BT to protect Partners’ Clients’ privacy at and away from work
• Completes the required technical training and participates in ongoing training opportunities
• Redirects, intervenes, observes, and monitors client behaviors
• Ability to problem solve and make appropriate decision
• Possesses the interpersonal skills to be playful, enthusiastic, and bring a high level of energy into the therapeutic situation
• Ability to work with a team and accept corrective feedback, complying with supervisory direction
• Effective communication skills with parents, co-workers, and supervisors
• Makes sound decisions and uses good judgment when dealing with clients, parents, and co-workers
• Demonstrates dependability and consistency in therapy and other job-related activities
• Communicates daily progress and client concerns to the appropriate staff members
• Organizes and cleans clients’ space and equipment
• Assists in keeping the facility safe, organized, sanitary, and guides others to do the same
• Assists clients with personal care including dressing, toileting, personal hygiene, food, nutrition, and diet needs
• Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds
• Attends and participates in meetings
• Reports all safety concerns to the Center Manager or their direct supervisor
• The BT is assigned to an area or areas (i.e., POD) at the Partners in Excellence’s center-based programs
• Other duties as assigned

This is largely an active role; requiring interaction with children and adults throughout the day. Employees will use computer equipment for extended periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate and interact with other members of the organization and parent/guardians of the clients. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Additional physical demands:
• Lift/carry/hold up to 25-50 pounds
• Push/pull up to 25-50 pounds
• Shoulder movement such as reach above, wipe tables, sweep/mop
• Use OSHA approved step stool/ladder as needed
• Walk, run, squat, bend, twist, kneel, crouch, crawl
• Ability move quickly with assigned client
• Finger and hand grasping/squeezing

Required Education and Experience
Must be at least 18 years of age
General knowledge of typical and special needs clients
Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds
Computer proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Dependable, consistent, and tactful
Ability to problem solve and make appropriate decisions
Successfully passed an initial and subsequent background checks (no history of felonies, substantiated client maltreatment or vulnerable adult incidents, or disqualifying misdemeanors)
Must possess the interpersonal skills to be playful, enthusiastic, and bring a high level of energy into the therapeutic situation
Must have demonstrated the ability to read written treatment directions, collect numeric data, and write progress notes
Must have demonstrated the ability to work with a team and comply with supervisory direction
Must have demonstrated a clear ability to accept corrective feedback, comply with supervisory direction, and have shown a solid history of seeking and completing required and optional training
