Job Description
elopment activities. It is the responsibility of the Laboratory Technician to perform all tasks associated with the specimen collection at the clinical trial site. Patient data will be collected using Good Clinical Practices and in a confidential fashion. This assures the rights, safety and well-being of trial subjects are protected, consistent with the principles that have their origin in the Declaration of Helsinki, and that our trial data is credible and safe.
The Research Laboratory Technician performs a variety of duties involved in the processing and analysis of clinical research specimens and data. They are expected to work closely with the Research team and other laboratory staff to develop and implement appropriate laboratory procedures for optimal bio-specimen quality and research data collection. As a Lab Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining laboratory standards, and ensuring quality assurance across projects.
The Laboratory Technician is also expected to assist in the daily operations of the laboratory, including but not limited to, specimen processing, and equipment maintenance and inventory control.
Responsibilities
• Function as a Laboratory technician with primary responsibility for research study activities. Completes study-related activities according to applicable Good Laboratory Practices and communicates findings in a timely manner
• Maintain study records and study notebooks and responds to quality assurance audit findings pertaining to primary study records
• Maintain and review study-related documents for accuracy
• Create forms and completes study notebooks in a timely manner under minimal supervision
• Actively and independently monitor and advance training progress and schedule training sessions with higher level personnel
• Participate in training lower level personnel
• Comply with applicable regulations, performing all work in a safe manner; Maintain proper records in accordance with SOPs and policies
• Function as a team member and display the behaviors and attributes required to complete inter-dependent tasks within a highly dynamic work environment where success depends on coordination, cooperation and personal leadership among members; Serve as a mentor to other team members .
• Assist in the development and validation of laboratory protocols, ensuring accuracy and reproducibility of results.
• Maintain detailed records of experiments, observations, and test results to support ongoing research efforts.
• Support laboratory management tasks such as inventory control, ordering supplies, and maintaining safety standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure research objectives are met efficiently and accurately.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to follow complex protocols accurately.
• 2+ years of experience required in a clinical research, biopharmaceutical, or basic science laboratory setting appropriate to department work assigned
• Will consider 5 years’ experience in same/similar role in clinical research environment in lieu of a degree
• Must be able to wear respiratory protection devices
Pay: $21.00 - $27.00 per hour
