Key Responsibilities

Behavior Assessment & Intervention
• Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and behavior observations in classrooms and other school environments
• Develop, implement, and monitor Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) aligned with IEP goals
• Use data-driven decision-making to adjust interventions and track student progress
• Provide crisis intervention support and de-escalation strategies when needed

Collaboration & Consultation
• Collaborate with special education teachers, general education teachers, administrators, school psychologists, and related service providers
• Participate in IEP meetings, SST meetings, and manifestation determination reviews
• Provide ongoing consultation to classroom staff regarding positive behavior supports

Training & Supervision
• Train teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff on behavior intervention strategies
• Provide supervision and mentorship to RBTs or behavior support staff (if applicable)
• Ensure fidelity of implementation across school settings

Documentation & Compliance
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with IDEA, FERPA, and California Department of Education (CDE) standards
• Prepare written reports, data summaries, and progress updates
• Ensure ethical practice in accordance with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) guidelines

Qualifications

Required
• Current BCBA certification through the BACB
• Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or related field
• Experience working with students with autism, emotional disturbances, ADHD, or other behavioral needs
• Strong knowledge of school-based behavior systems and IEP processes
• Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams

Preferred
• School-based BCBA experience in K–12 settings
• Knowledge of California Special Education law and compliance requirements
• Experience supervising RBTs or behavior technicians
• CPI or other crisis intervention certification

Licensure & Clearances
• Eligible to work in the United States
• DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance (California)
• TB clearance
• Any additional district or county office of education requirements

Skills & Competencies
• Strong data analysis and reporting skills
• Excellent communication with staff, families, and administrators
• Ability to manage multiple cases across school sites
• Flexible, solution-focused, and student-centered approach

Schedule & Work Environment
• School-year calendar (with potential ESY participation)
• Daytime hours, aligned with school schedules
• Primarily on-site with occasional district or family meetings

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst – ES provides consultation, training, conducts behavioral evaluations and develops/implements behavior intervention plans for individuals with academic and behavioral deficits. The Board Certified Behavior Analyst – ES acts as a clinical teacher who educates, observes, assesses, and supervises educational activities and behavioral service delivery in the school setting.

Minimum Requirements:
• Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
• Master’s degree in applied behavior analysis, teaching, psychology or related field
• Preferred experience providing behavior analytic programs and services in schools
• One (1) year minimum pediatric experience preferred

• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
