Essential Job Function:
• Staying current and professionally competent entails engaging with literature and attending regional and national gatherings within the realm of education and training.
• Takes part in educational initiatives designed for patients, staff, and professionals.
• Involves in educational and research activities, encompassing didactic materials, structured teaching sessions, clinical education, professional development meetings, and clinical investigation.
• Involves in liaison tasks with other professional team members and fosters relationships for patient referrals.
• Ensures that referring physicians are kept up to date on patient treatment and results.
• Offering patient care entails delivering direct and indirect assistance to individuals within specified areas.
• Responsible for supervising the interdisciplinary team in medical matters and overseeing the tasks assigned to residents and medical students.
• Takes part in research initiatives within the clinical field.
• Provides precise and prompt documentation and approval of care to establish current medical records for billing needs.
• Maintains and upholds the set professional standards of MCHS, which include the Medical Staff By-Laws, commitments to Service Excellence, practice guidelines, physician obligations, and standards for professional appearance.
• Works collaboratively towards the MCHS Mission, Vision, and Principles.
• Shows professionalism and respect in interactions with peers, clients, coworkers, family members, and visitors.
• Commits to upholding the Socratic Oath, protecting patient confidentiality, and conducting oneself with honesty and respect in every situation.
• Functions in synchrony with MCHS aims, aiding in goal accomplishment.
• Quality and Safety: Involves themselves in medical audits, quality improvement schemes, examinations, peer assessments, and other investigations related to professional care standards when required.
• Offering medical guidance and taking the lead in coordinating the efforts of the interdisciplinary team for the best possible patient results.
• Upholds safety procedures and ensures compliance with regulations.
• Continuous Enhancement: Strives for continuous advancement and the application of evidence-based methodologies to achieve exceptional healthcare and customer service, with results reaching the 90th percentile or higher.
• Ensure records are kept in compliance with MCHS policies and applicable laws.
• Plays a role in the advancement of clinical guidelines, protocols, projects, and gives advice to enhance the excellence and productivity of healthcare delivery.
• Divides specific on-call responsibilities among fellow physicians in the assigned areas.
Education
• Required: Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from a Medical School recognized by the North Carolina Medical Board.
• Also medical degrees from other countries that are equivalent to the United States MD or DO degrees from a Medical School recognized by the North Carolina Medical Board.
Experience
• Required: Completed appropriate residency training (and fellowship training as required).
Licensure/Certification/Listing
• REQUIRED Required: Practitioner must have completed the number of years in a residency program approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and met all other requirements for eligibility to receive board certification recognized by either the American Board of Medical Specialties or the American Osteopathic Association in the primary medical specialty (or subspecialty) for which the Practitioner is applying for Clinical Privileges. If five (5) or more years have elapsed since the Practitioner completed such residency program, the Practitioner currently must have board-certification recognized by either the American Board of Medical Specialties or the American Osteopathic Association in such specialty (or subspecialty). Fully licensed to practice Medicine in the state of NC. Meets requirements of the Moses Cone Health System Medical Staff by-laws and obtains the appropriate level of medical staff privileges. The Practitioner must have a current, and valid DEA registration number, with no involuntary limitations on prescriptive authority (schedule limitations) resulting from DEA disciplinary actions.
