Key Responsibilities:
• Patient Care: Deliver direct nursing care to patients, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with daily activities.
• Research Support: Support the implementation of clinical research protocols by assisting with patient screening, enrollment, and follow-up. Collect and accurately document study data.
• Clinical Procedures: Perform routine clinical procedures such as blood draws, ECGs, and other sample collections as required by the study protocol.
• Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about study participation, procedures, and care plans. Ensure patients understand and adhere to study requirements.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, including electronic medical records (EMR) and study-specific documentation. Ensure all documentation is completed promptly.
• Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all regulatory and institutional guidelines, including GCP (Good Clinical Practice) and HIPAA regulations. Assist with preparation for audits and inspections.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the research team, including physicians, nurses, and study coordinators, to ensure seamless patient care and study conduct.
• Emergency Response: Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies, providing appropriate interventions and reporting as required.
• Continuous Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing education to enhance clinical skills and knowledge related to clinical research and patient care.

Qualifications:
• Education: Graduation from an accredited LVN program.
• Licensure/Certification: Current and valid LVN license in Texas.
• Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in an inpatient or research setting.
• Skills: Proficient in clinical procedures and patient care. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Attributes: Compassionate, detail-oriented, and committed to patient safety and care. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
• Ability to respond quickly to emergencies.
