Job Description

Overview

Join our dedicated team as a Special Education Teacher/Tutor and make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young adults with diverse learning needs. Part time and Full time opportunities available. Pay starts at 25 an hour and bumps up to 30 an hour once RBT certified with Bonuses. Up to 35 an hour for well qualified applicants after 90 day probationary period.

Responsibilities
• Develop and implement tailored lesson plans that meet individual student needs, aligning with special education standards and curriculum guidelines
• Utilize various learning technologies and adaptive tools to enhance student engagement and understanding
• Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions to reinforce concepts across core subjects such as reading, math, and social skills
• Manage classroom environments effectively to promote positive behavior, safety, and respectful interactions among students
• Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to monitor progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
• Maintain detailed records of student performance, lesson plans, and behavioral observations for ongoing assessment
• Foster a supportive atmosphere that encourages student participation, confidence, and social-emotional development

Requirements
• Proven experience working with children or students in educational or childcare settings, including preschool or early childhood education environments
• Strong knowledge of special education practices, curriculum development, and lesson planning techniques
• Familiarity with learning technology tools used in educational settings for interactive teaching and assessment
• Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, colleagues, and support staff
• Ability to manage classroom dynamics with patience, flexibility, and a proactive approach to behavior management
• Prior classroom experience in early childhood education or preschool settings is highly desirable
• Demonstrated commitment to inclusive education principles and working with diverse learner populations
