Job Description
Position Summary
We are seeking a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to support clients in our residential housing program during second shift hours [3p-11p]. The BHT plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, structured, and recovery-oriented environment by monitoring residents, supporting daily routines, and reinforcing program expectations.
This position is ideal for someone who is dependable, compassionate, and interested in working directly with individuals in recovery.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Monitor and support residents in the housing environment to ensure safety, structure, and compliance with program rules
• Conduct regular checks and observations; document behaviors, incidents, and shift notes accurately
• Support residents with daily routines, community expectations, and recovery-focused activities
• De-escalate situations appropriately and follow crisis intervention and safety protocols
• Communicate effectively with clinical, housing, and operations staff during shift handoffs
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transitions as needed
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA and organizational policies
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Valid driver's license
• Experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, residential care, or human services preferred
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and a calm presence in a fast-paced environment
• Strong observation, documentation, and communication skills
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
