Job Description:
The Respiratory Care Staff Technician (S.T.) is currently enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Care educational program and functions in a limited capacity, exclusively within the realm of routine respiratory care. Practical knowledge of the anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the cardiopulmonary system is required to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients receiving respiratory care. The S.T. will function under the clinical supervision and guidance of the Manager or Charge Therapist.
The Respiratory Care Staff Technician must demonstrate beginning and intermediate knowledge of clinical application and theoretical respiratory principles consistent with the current literature and accepted practice of the respiratory care profession. The Respiratory Care Staff Technician must be able to assess and interpret basic data about the patient's health status to identify each patient's age specific needs and provide care.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Eligible for the National Board for Respiratory Care Certification exam or is enrolled and in good standing in an A.M.A. approved respiratory care program - required.
• Current State Medical Board of Ohio License: Limited Permit - required.
• BLS Certification in CPR through the American Heart Association. Certification must be active at time of hire and maintained throughout employment in position.
