You'll work alongside teachers to guide, encourage, and support students with diverse needs, including those receiving Special Education services and English Language Learners (ELL). In this role, you'll make a meaningful difference in helping students succeed both in and out of the classroom.
Certification & Training Requirements
To become a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), employees must:
Complete a 40-hour RBT training program that meets BACB requirements.
Successfully pass the RBT Initial Competency Assessment conducted by a qualified BCBA.
Submit all required documentation through the BACB application portal.
Pass the RBT Certification Examination administered through Pearson VUE.
Essential Responsibilities
Provide one-on-one behavioral therapy under the supervision of a BCBA.
Implement individualized behavior intervention and skill acquisition programs.
Collect accurate data on student progress and behavior.
Maintain professional documentation and treatment records.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, teachers, caregivers, and team members.
Follow all ethical, confidentiality, and safety guidelines.
Qualifications
Compassionate, patient, and dependable.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Willingness to complete all required RBT certification requirements within the designated timeframe.
Work Environment
Services may be provided in schools, homes, clinics, or community settings.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and assist students as needed.
