Job Description
Assistants and/or Medical School Graduates to join our team as a Medical Assistant. We offer a unique, high-volume clinical environment where you will be treated as a vital part of the care team. This position is ideal for those who have completed their rotations and are looking to maintain clinical proficiency and bolster their residency applications.

Requirements:
• MD/DO or MBBS degree from an accredited medical school.
• CNA from an accredited medical assistant school.
• Completed all core clinical rotations.
• Excellent clinical knowledge and a desire to remain active in patient care during the application cycle.
• A "team-player" mentality with a willingness to assist in all areas of the clinic, including front-office administration, scheduling, and patient coordination.
• Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor when interacting with patients in person and over the phone.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform comprehensive patient intake, including histories and preliminary physical exam findings to present to the attending physician.
• Assist in the management of chronic conditions (Diabetes, Hypertension) within a PCMH framework.
• Conduct diagnostic testing including EKGs, Spirometry, and CGM setups.
• Engage in Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives and HEDIS measure tracking (great for their residency CV).
• Scribe or document clinical encounters in the EMR to mirror residency-level reporting.
The Full-Spectrum Experience: At Brookville Medical Center, our Medical Assistants are cross-trained in both back-office clinical care and front-office operations. This provides a comprehensive understanding of healthcare administration, insurance navigation, and patient relations—skills that are essential for future residents and attending physicians.
Administrative & Front-Office Clinical Support:
• Patient Navigation: Serve as the first point of contact, managing the "check-in" process to ensure a seamless transition from the waiting room to the exam room.
• Insurance Verification & Referral Management: Gain hands-on experience with medical billing systems, ICD-10/CPT coding basics, and the prior authorization process.
• Care Coordination: Manage the provider’s schedule to optimize patient flow and prioritize urgent clinical needs.
• Medical Record Oversight: Handle incoming medical records, specialist reports, and lab results, ensuring the physician has all necessary data before the encounter.
• Patient Communication: Triaging phone calls and patient portal messages to determine the level of clinical urgency.
