Job Description
ars, St. Vincent's Special Needs Services (SVSNS) has been a trusted provider of specialized services for children and adults with multiple developmental disabilities and complex medical needs, such as cerebral palsy, acute brain injury, neuromuscular disorders and autism spectrum disorders. Each year, more than 400 children, adults and their families receive services from the organization.
Summary:
Provide school-based nursing and educational support to medically complex special need students. Ensure implementation of health care plans, promote student safety, and support access to learning through collaboration with school staff and families.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as primary caregiver for identified students during the school day
Implement individualized plans of care and emergency care plans
Monitor student health and report changes to the RN
Assist with medical emergencies
Administer medications and treatments; complete accurate daily documentation
Accompany students during field trips, and school activities
Coordinate medical equipment and supplies
Communicate effectively with families and interdisciplinary teams
Participate in team meetings
Assist students during emergency drills
Qualifications
Current LPN license (required)
Pediatric or school nursing experience preferred
Strong communication and documentation skills
