Job Description

• Educates and counsels patient and family regarding treatment plans.
• Maintains clinical records and follows performance improvement recommendations.
• Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from speech therapy services.
• Provides information regarding appropriate support programs.

Qualifications - External

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited graduate program;
• Successful completion of the National Praxis Examination;
• Successful completion of the Clinical Fellowship Year.
• One year of experience in a clinical setting required.

LICENSURES AND CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
• The State of Michigan license; Certificate of Clinical Competence by ASHA

    Responsibilities

    • Contingent - Day Shift - Weekday & Rotating Weekends at Providence Rochester
    • Day Shift-7:00a-3:30p (some flexibility)- covering Acute Care, IPR & Outpatient; covering for vacations, holidays & high volume + weekend on-call, once every 4-6 weeks
    • Evaluates and treats patients requiring speech-language therapy
    • Performs therapy interventions utilizing standard therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the condition of the patient
    • Educates and counsels patient and family regarding treatment plans
    • Maintains clinical records and follows performance improvement recommendations
    • Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from speech therapy services
    • Provides information regarding appropriate support programs
