As a Research Student II Post Baccalaureate for the Matsuoka Lab, you will work closely with research personnel and actively participate in a structured learning experience in laboratory or clinical research settings. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in laboratory techniques, clinical procedures, data collection and analysis, and other related skills, providing valuable exposure to careers in biomedical and clinical research.

A caregiver in this role works days from 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
• Learn laboratory techniques to support ongoing research projects in a laboratory or clinical setting.
• Learn how to record and analyze data related to research experiments or data sets.
• Other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
• Undergraduate degree
• May be accepted/enrolled in an accredited college or university as a medical student, MA/MS student or other graduate program students (EXCLUDES students in a PhD program)
• This position is NOT applicable to anyone who has completed all requirements for master’s or other advanced degrees
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
• Students with previous clinical research or research laboratory experience
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
• Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.
• Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
• Ability to distinguish color.
• Manual dexterity to handle specimens and repair equipment.
• Ability to lift and transport equipment or specimens weighing up to 20 pounds.
• May be exposed to hazardous chemicals, biohazards, radioactive materials, etc.
Personal Protective Equipment:
• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $15.00
Maximum hourly: $150.00
