Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Plant Biology, Biotechnology, Genetics, or a related biological science
  • Experience: 1–3 years of laboratory experience (academic or industry)
  • Technical Skills: Proven experience in aseptic technique and plant tissue culture
  • Digital Literacy: Proficiency in MS Office 365 and a high level of comfort learning new digital platforms (e.g., Power BI, Benchling, or proprietary Corteva LIMS)
  • Critical Thinking: Ability to interpret experimental data and troubleshoot technical deviations in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • In this role, you will be at the forefront of genetic innovation, utilizing advanced cell biology, and digital tools to develop the next generation of seed products
  • Technical Execution: Execute high-throughput plant transformation protocols across key crops (Corn, Soy, etc.) with a focus on precision and reproducibility
  • Precision Tissue Culture: Perform complex cell biology tasks, including explant preparation (immature embryos and leaf tissues) for Agrobacterium-mediated transformation, callus induction, and plant regeneration
  • Data Integrity & Digital Stewardship: Utilize LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) and digital tracking tools to document plant development and optimize tissue culture success rates
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in process optimization initiatives, identifying opportunities to automate workflows and improve laboratory efficiency
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure 100% adherence to biosafety regulations, greenhouse protocols, and Corteva’s Product Stewardship standards to maintain our "License to Operate."
  • Collaborative Innovation: Work cross-functionally with Molecular Biology, Greenhouse, and Data Science teams to ensure the seamless delivery of research materials
