Novus supports our clients via remote on-line therapy as well as locally with in-person sessions in our Garden Grove office near Long Beach, Seal Beach, Huntington Beach, Los Alamitos and surrounding communities. The team at Novus is regarded as the expert process addiction treatment group in our community, offering healing treatment for adult individuals and couples whose lives have been affected by trauma, betrayal, infidelity, relationship challenges, addiction or pornography addiction. FOUNDER PROFILE: Duane Osterlind is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Certified Addiction Therapist and Supervisor. Duane has over twenty years of experience helping clients overcome and Pornography addiction and using trauma informed treatment to help couples rebuild trust after Betrayal Trauma or Infidelity. A leading expert in this field, Duane is also the creator and host of “The Addicted Mind” podcast and the “Shame To Resilience” online workshop for men.
TITLE: Marriage and Family Therapist: Couples Counseling, Betrayal Trauma, and Pornography Addiction Tx Focus
DESCRIPTION: Outstanding opportunity for a Licensed or Associate Marriage and Family Therapist or Social Worker interested in gaining training, experience and supervision in the field of betrayal trauma and addiction treatment. The therapist in this position who has training and experience (or desire to learn) will provide hourly therapy services to individuals and couples addressing stress, anxiety, depression, relational trauma, communication, relationship challenges, trust, infidelity, betrayal trauma, compulsive behavior, addiction and pornography addiction. This clinician will conduct approximately 10-20 sessions per week of individual, couples and/or group therapy as well as psycho-education and coaching sessions. The ideal candidate for this position will actively participate, contribute to and collaborate as a member of Novus Mindful Life Institute’s expert treatment team. Knowledge, experience and understanding of methods to provide effective quality treatment with compassion, confidentiality, impartiality and without judgment empowering clients to achieve healing and recovery is required. This is an hourly employee W-2 position. Building a full caseload may take several months.
IDEAL ATTRIBUTES:
Experience , or desire to gain clinical training and experience with Individual Counseling, Couples Counseling, Partner Trauma Support, Training and/or Certification in the Treatment of and Pornography Addiction. Enjoys working as a member of a clinical treatment team to provide clients with comprehensive expert care. Must be professional, passionate, empathetic, open-minded, flexible, creative, enjoys helping others, resourceful, organized, confident, positive energy, and an open and honest communicator.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Maintain licensure in good standing with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
• Maintain current CEUs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
• Maintain Individual Professional Liability Insurance.
• Provide psychotherapy through various therapeutic modalities (i.e., individual, couples, and group therapy) at the outpatient and intensive outpatient levels of care.
• Demonstrate sound clinical judgement and decision-making skills.
• Complete thorough assessments to support diagnosis and confirm appropriate level of care by providing sufficient documentation of symptomology and functioning levels.
• Administer and track client satisfaction measures as needed to maintain and improve client retention.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills and ability to use an ipad and computer for EMR.
• Collaborate within the treatment team in a manner to achieve robust client retention and positive treatment outcomes.
• Attend all required meetings including staff, clinical review, and in-service education.
• Consent to periodic recording of sessions for training purposes.
• Adhere to charting requirements by completing all clinical documentation daily.
• Respond to administrative requests within a timely manner to ensure the successful processing of client transactions, paperwork, insurance claims, and billing.
• Demonstrate cultural sensitivity, an understanding of diverse cultures, and issues.
• Conduct all professional activity with impeccable ethics and integrity: compatible with professional standards of responsibilities.
• Maintain strict client confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Adherence to all NMLI policies and procedures, state and federal laws, and any other relevant accreditation regulations and standards.
• Uphold NMLI’s reputation by exhibiting a professional, confident and grounded appearance and attitude during interactions with clients, colleagues and professionals.

INSURANCE CREDENTIALING
Willingness and ability to comply with Health Insurance Paneling and Credentialing Application and Attestation Requirements.
SCHEDULE:
Hybrid: In-Person and Remote: Make your own schedule subject to office availability. minimum availability of 2 days x 6 hours in office for in-person sessions. Evenings and alternating Saturday or Sunday availability desired. Opportunity to grow into full-time.
COMPENSATION RATE
Hourly rate +bonus to be determined based on experience, training and qualifications. Minimum base pay of $35.00 hourly to start.
