What does the Clinical Research Nurse (RN) do?
This role offers a unique opportunity to work as a nurse in oncology clinical research, providing care for patients receiving cutting-edge treatments. You will develop rewarding relationships as you manage patients throughout their journey. Responsibilities
• Work closely with physicians to identify and screen potential clinical trial participants.
• Present trial concepts and details to patients, conducting informed consent.
• Assess patients for adverse events or changes in condition.
• Provide education to staff and patients regarding investigational product management and administration.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation and data entry to meet trial requirements.
• Serve as a liaison between clinic departments to ensure proper trial conduct.
Qualifications
• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).
• Current RN licensure in the state of practice.
• Current BLCS or ACLS certification.
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience, preferably in oncology.
• OCN certification strongly preferred.
• CCRC or CCRP certification preferred.
Working Conditions
The work environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, radiation, and other conditions typical of an oncology/hematology clinic. Reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities.
Physical Requirements
Requires full body motion, handling and lifting patients, manual dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Standing and walking for extended periods are necessary. Occasionally, lifting up to 40 lbs. Corrected vision and hearing to normal range are required.
