Duties
• Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations for children and adolescents experiencing behavioral or emotional difficulties
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, play-based therapy, behavioral therapy, art therapy
• Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions focused on mental health issues including PTSD, autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, and crisis intervention
• Collect and document detailed medical records, treatment progress notes, and patient data in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Collaborate with case management teams to coordinate community resources, home care services, and support networks for clients
• Engage in ongoing patient care activities such as patient assessment updates, progress monitoring, and adjusting treatment strategies as needed
• Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to motivate clients toward positive behavioral changes and recovery goals

Skills
• Proven experience working with children and families in behavioral health or social work settings
• Strong knowledge of mental health counseling modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), crisis management, conflict management, and psychotherapeutic techniques
• Familiarity with medical terminology, medical documentation standards, and electronic health records (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA guidelines
• Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations for various mental health conditions including PTSD and autism spectrum disorders
• Experience with counseling, crisis intervention, behavior management, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities ages 4 and up
• Skilled in data collection for clinical research or program evaluation purposes
• Excellent communication skills for engaging children, adolescents, families, and multidisciplinary teams effectively
• Knowledge of special education needs and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays is a plus
