Job Description

Job Summary
A private family is seeking an experienced Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to work with their son, who is a friendly and charismatic 24-year-old young man with autism. The young man is mostly independent in his daily living skills, and requires support to manage challenging behaviors and increase his access to the community. He lives part time with his family, and enjoys the rest of his time in his own apartment.

The ideal candidate is a Registered Behavior Technician with at least 2 years of experience working with individuals diagnosed with autism or other developmental disabilities, and is a compassionate and dedicated professional. Experience managing challenging behaviors including aggression is required.

This is a part time position, for approximately 15 hours per week, & weekend availability is required. Additional hours may be available in the form of occasional shift coverage.

Duties
• Implement individualized behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
• Collect and record data on client progress and behavior changes accurately and consistently.
• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) to promote independence and improve quality of life.
• Provide support in teaching social skills, communication, and self-management strategies.
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills in behavioral therapy and special education practices.
• Support clients in various settings, including home and community environments.

Requirements
• Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).
• At least 2 years experience working with children or individuals with autism.
• Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques and principles.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
• Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and understanding when working with individuals on the autism spectrum or those requiring behavioral management support.
• Weekend availability required - Shifts are: Friday, Saturday, Sunday 8am-1pm (approximately 15 hours per week)
