Key responsibilities include contributing to the planning and delivery of speech-language therapy services addressing areas such as assistive technology, augmentative communication, social language skills, articulation, voice, oral-motor function, feeding, and receptive and expressive language development delays. The role involves performing diagnostic and evaluation testing, delivering clear and insightful reports based on assessments, and developing and maintaining Individualized Education Program (IEP) objectives. Effective collaboration and communication with parents and colleagues regarding students progress and needs are also essential.
Qualified candidates must hold or be eligible to hold an Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) license and a Professional Educator License (PEL). At least one to two years of experience as an SLP is preferred. Strong communication skills, the ability to work well within a collaborative team, and flexibility/problem-solving abilities are important attributes for success in this position.
